Records Management Society

Over the last two years the BRAINBOX team have supported the RMS Website in wide variety of ways. The RMS website is now primary source of relevant information for RM Professionals in the UK and Overseas. The information is well structured and easy to navigate. The additional of e-membership applications and e-bookings has led to a step change in the way in which our members interact with the Society, and greater back-office efficiencies too.The service, innovation and creativity we have received from BRAINBOX has been excellent, and we have nothing but praise for their activities. As to the future, my personal view is that it's a "no brainer" to use Brainbox!

The "before" picture

The Records Management Society had had a website for some time, and had built up a reasonable volume of content. But there were difficulties:

• The website was highly inaccessible: difficult to read, and requiring JavaScript to get to some of the content.
• It was difficult to maintain. The Society was missing out on revenue because of difficulties in adding job adverts

A further consequence of this lack of accessibility was a relatively poor search engine ranking.

Putting it right, and taking it further

BRAINBOX was engaged to bring the website up to modern standards and to add the following functionality:

• Powerful administration features
• A Member Only area

Administration

The website has a fully featured "Powered by BRAINBOX" administration website which allows articles of various types - Events, Trainings, Minutes of Meetings, Jobs, etc. - to be added, published and de-published.

The administrators are able to create complex articles - including images and downloadable files - without the need for any knowledge of HTML.

The Administration website also has access-management features. New online users may be created - and their access details emailed to them - in less than a minute.

Member Only area

The website now has a password-protected area for premium content. It has a range of features:

• Recovery from password loss - password changed and emailed to the user
• Request for access details
